Shaam’S New Avatar As A Producer

Winning laurels for his commendable performance in Telugu movie ‘Kick’, Shaam has been receiving more offers in Tollywood and Kannada Film Industry. Yet, he’s so focused on pulling out successful notes in Tamil film industry and now takes on a new avatar.

Vasanthabalan casts Pasupathy and Adhi

Director Vasanthabalan, whose ‘Angaadi Theru’ starring Anjali in the lead has been lying in cold storage for a long time. Realizing that it would be futile to await the film’s release and remain non-committal to other film offers, Vasanthabalan has now decided to move ahead.

After Agam Puram it's Maan Vettai

After completing Shaam's Agam Puram, director Thirumalai will start his next film titled Maan Vettai, which will have Seeman, son of a DMK functionary in the lead. If sources are to be believed then Maan Vettai will narrate the story of a young guy whose life takes a surprising twist after falling in love. The film is expected to be an commercial entertainer.

Surya - Aamir Khan Film Soon In Theatres

These iconic personalities from Hind and Tamil film industry have been sharing great rapport over a long period of time. Moreover, ‘Taare Zameen Par’ had got them yet more closer as they were involved. When Aamir Khan was busy remaking Suriya’s ‘Ghajini’ in Hindi, Surya dubbed Aamir Khan for the Tamil version of ‘TZP’ titled ‘Vaal Natchathiram’.

Bala starts shooting with Vishal

Bala has started the shoot of his new film Avan Ivan in Kutralam in southern Tamil Nadu from Friday February 19. The film has Vishal, Arya and Janani Iyer in the lead and has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

The first shot was taken on Vishal, as Arya will be joining the shoot a few days later as he is busy with Boss Engira Baskaran shoot with Nayanthara in Chennai.

Bala is hoping to complete Avan Ivan in two schedules and under 100 days of shoot. But the big question being asked in Kollywood is will Bala a director who takes a long time to shoot, complete the film on schedule?

Actors meet decide Ajith Kumar Issue

The Nadigar Sangam’s extraordinary general body meeting will take place on February 27th, 2010. The president of the Sangam, Sarathkumar, general secretary Radha Ravi, vice-presidents Vijaya Kumar and Manorama, treasurer Vagai Chandrasekar, and host of other stars including Sathyaraj, Suriya, Murali, and S.Ve. Sekar will participate in the meeting.

No wedding for now – Gajala

Gajala’s response is a big no to rumours saying she would soon enter wedlock with Tollywood hero Naresh (who has acted in the Tamil film ‘Kurumbu’). “We are acting together in a new film. This has become enough reason for rumour mills to work overtime,” she says.

Shruthi Haasan is surprised

Shruthi Haasan is surprised with the reports which claimed that she would croon for a Kannada film titled ‘Prithvi’, starring Puneet Rajakumar in the lead role. “This is news to me” she says.

The actress-music composer however says she is interested to work in a Kannada movie if she is approached. “Why not? I will surely work for a Kannada film if the project is exciting” is her take.

Tamil films to be dubbed in foreign languages

Tamil film festival was held in Norway for a week’s time. Vaseegaran of Music Dreams had organized this festival. Thirteen Tamil films including 1999 which speaks the turmoil of Sri Lankan Tamils, Peranmai, Subramaniapuram, Pasanga and Poo was screened in this festival. Director S P Jananathan while speaking to the media said,” This is the first time an exclusive film festival in Tamil was held in Norway in the whole world.

Close on the heels of 'Mozhi' and 'Abhiyum Nanum', Radha Mohan's next directorial venture too will be produced by Prakash Raj. Titled Payanam, the movie would start its journey.

Says Prakash Raj, "I am currently producing three movies 'Mayilu', 'Inidhu Inidhu' and 'Payanam'. Mayilu is nearing completion while Inidhu Inidhu, a remake of Telugu hit Happy Days is fast shaping up. The shoot of Payanam, to be directed by Radha Mohan, will start soon."

Sources close to Prakash Raj's Duet Movies say that Payanam would be a different film quiet like 'Mozhi' and 'Abhiyum Nanum'. "At the same time , the movie would suit to the taste of the massed," they say.

There was news that Tejashree is in love with a cinematographer and both are going to get married soon. But Tejashree has refused this.

Tejashree while speaking said,” I am struggling to come in cinema filed without any background.

Somebody who does not like me coming up as spread such rubbish rumor that I am in love and am getting married.
I am not in love with anyone. I will definitely not ,marry anyone pertaining to cinema field. Currently I am acting in a Tamil film Manmadha Rajyam. I am also acting in a Marathi and Kannada film.”

A R Rahman in "We Are the World 25 for Haiti" song

The Michael Jackson’s song 'We Are the World,' that raised over 30 millions US dollars for African humanitarian programs 25 years ago was redone by popular artistes of the world today including our own A R Rahman to raise funds for Haitian earthquake relief.

The 25th Anniversary recording featured over 80 artists and performers. The new version embodied the same passion, determination and bigheartedness as the original recording 25 years ago. The song was recorded on February 1st, 2010, in the same studio as the original 25 years earlier. None of the singers from the original were included except for the late Michael Jackson joined by his sister Janet.
The star-studded video was premiered on February 12 during the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics at Vancouver. Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie brought artists from different genre for this remake.

A R Rahman to score music for Shekar Kapur's Paani?

The Mozart of Madras A R Rahman will probably create the music for Shekhar Kapur's upcoming flick Paani, a science fiction plot written and directed by Golden Globe nominated Shekhar Kapur.

Sources add the film will be about water wars between rich and poor, which also includes a love story. Vivek Oberoi is rumoured to play a prominent role in this film which will grace theatres in 2011.

Shekhar Kapur is already an international celebrity after his much critically acclaimed Elizabeth film. The film will be produced jointly by Oscar winner Barrie Osborne of The Lord of the Rings fame and spirituality author Deepak Chopra.

RahMania- A tribute to A R Rahman's Golden Era

A R Rahman, the Mozart of Madras, has been emerging victorious in all his outings lately and an event called ‘RahMania’ to celebrate his success will be organized in Chennai on the 28th of February.

“I have a special place for love in my heart. And I am a great believer of love marriages,” says Bharath.
The actor, who shot to fame with the movie ‘Kadhal’ meaning love, says, “Today, we have a wider choice since we get to meet people from different walks of life, but one has to be careful in choosing his/her partner.”
“Love in real life has to happen at the right time,” he says and adds: “Because, romance is a great feeling that strikes a balance between the heart and the mind. It can do miracles.”
Ask him whether he has fallen in love, Bharath says, “I am yet to come across my kind of girl. But who knows? Even tomorrow I could find her somewhere. But I would make it open the moment I fall in love.”

Madhumitha speaks to the media

Madhumitha is currently directing a film titled Kolai Kolaya Mundhrika after Vallamai Tharayo. The shooting of the film has come to an end.
While speaking about this film, she said,” Comedy is given importance in this film. Crazy Mohan has written the story and dialogues.

I have written the screenplay and directed this film. Lot of actors including Karthik Kumar, Shika and Jayaram are acting in this film. One famous actor is also starring in this film. It is suspense for time being that who is the famous actor.
We will be releasing the film after the IPL matches in April. Many are asking why I am directing a comedy film. I studied fashion design in Singapore and then later on went to America.

Karthi shifts gear to Naan Mahan Alla

After ‘Paruthiveeran’ it took more than two years for Karthi to release his second film ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’. That gap was pretty too much feels Karthi and so he has decided to hurry up all his forthcoming projects. His next ‘Paiyaa’ with Lingusamy is ready for this month release. After this, ‘Naan Mahan Alla’ with director Suseendran is 60% complete and ready to strike, soon after ‘Paiyaa’.

After these two, Karthi will start his film ‘Vada Chennai’ with Vettrimaran almost immediately. In this Vettrimaran film Karthi plays a caring fisherman who is drawn into a mafia gang unwillingly. He fights enemies even there.
